Eight treatments, and what each one actually involves.
Most clinic websites describe a treatment in three paragraphs and leave out the part patients want, which is how many appointments it takes and how long they will look treated. That is the first thing on this page.
Sessions, downtime and when results show.
Ranges are typical rather than promised. What applies to you is decided by examining the area, and some people are not candidates for a given treatment at all.

Brand names of prescription products are not listed here. What may be published about them in Canada is limited, so they are named and discussed at the assessment instead.
Start from what you notice, not from a treatment name.
Most people arrive having read about a treatment and want to know whether to book it. That is the wrong way round, because the same complaint has different answers depending on what is actually causing it.
| What you notice | Usually relevant |
|---|---|
| Lines that stay when your face is still | Wrinkle relaxing injections, or resurfacing if the lines are shallow |
| Your face looks flatter than it did | Volume loss. Usually filler, sometimes nothing at all |
| Dull, rough or uneven skin | Microneedling or mesotherapy, over a course |
| Acne scarring | Microneedling at medical depth, three to six sessions |
| Hair thinning at the crown or temples | PRP, after the medical causes have been ruled out |
| Fine purple veins on the legs | Sclerotherapy |
The full detail, one page each.
Each page covers the mechanism, what it does not treat, what the appointment is like, honest recovery, and who is not a candidate.
What none of these treatments do.
Worth reading before booking anything, because it is the part that gets left off most clinic pages.
- None of them lift loose skin. That is a surgical question, and the honest answer is a referral.
- None of them change bone structure or the shape of the underlying face.
- None of them treat active acne. That is dermatology, and scarring is only worth treating once the acne is controlled.
- None of them are permanent, except sclerotherapy for the vein actually treated.
- None of them replace sun protection. Everything here rebuilds what UV takes away more slowly than UV takes it.
- Injectables do not fix skin quality, and skin treatments do not replace volume. Those two get confused more than anything else.
About treatment in general.
Questions specific to one treatment are answered on its own page.
Can I have more than one treatment at the same visit?
Sometimes. Injectables and a skin treatment are not usually done on the same day, because one needs the skin intact and the other deliberately disrupts it. Combinations are planned at the assessment rather than decided at the door.
How do I know if a course is working?
Photographs taken under the same light at the same angle, not memory. Change from a course of microneedling or PRP is gradual enough that it is genuinely hard to see day to day, which is why people abandon courses one session before they would have seen the result.
What if I have had treatment somewhere else?
Bring what you know: what was used, roughly how much, and when. If you do not know, that is common and it is not a problem. It changes the timing of what can be done next rather than whether anything can be done.
Is there anything that rules me out of everything here?
Pregnancy and breastfeeding rule out most of it. Active infection at the treatment site postpones anything local. Certain neuromuscular conditions and some medications rule out injectables specifically. Anyone under eighteen seeking cosmetic treatment is declined.
Do I need to stop anything before treatment?
Blood thinners, fish oil and high dose vitamin E all increase bruising, and alcohol the night before does the same. Whether any of them should actually be stopped is a medical decision, so it is discussed at the assessment rather than acted on from a website.
